Avram Grant insists Chelsea can still reach the Champions League semi-finals despite watching Colin Kazim-Kazim take the fizz out of his side's quarter-final first leg againts Fenerbahce.
Grant's team seamed to be cruising towards the last four as Deivid's own goal gifted them an early lead the Sukru Saracoglu stadium. But Fenerbahce, inspired by Kazim-Kazim, staged a remarkable second half revival.
Kazim-Kazim came off the bench to equalise before Deivid completed his transformation from villian to hero with a stunning winner nine minutes from full-time.
Chelsea had been in complete control until the equaliser and will have left Istanbul wondering how on earth they squandered such a commanding position.
Now they have it all to do in the return at Stamford Bridge, but Grant is convinced they will go through if they produce a similar level of performance.
The bitter memory of Champions Leagues semi-final defeats in three of the last four seasons has made Chelsea desperate to reach final in Moscow this year.
Grant was admant his side should have won convincingly.
